Benjamin Deaton Interior Design is a full-service, boutique design firm specializing in residential interiors. We have completed projects throughout Central Kentucky, South Florida, Long Island, New Orleans as well as Washington, D.C. and other locales.

Julia Dawahare, Senior Interior Designer

Julia came to Interior Design through her love of antiques, fabrics and beautiful decor. Her style is clean and classic with a modern and eclectic bent, while striving for an overarching thread of graciousness throughout her interiors. As the firm's Senior Designer, Julia works hand in hand with Ben Deaton on multiple high-end projects.

A native Kentuckian, she attended the University of Kentucky and began her career as a writer before finding her passion for beautiful spaces and thoughtful design. She lives in Lexington with her husband.

Benjamin Deaton, ASID

Kentucky native Benjamin Deaton specializes in thoughtful and glamorously approachable design. Drawing upon the influence of his architectural design background, Benjamin has an innate understanding of order and the relationship and interplay between furniture, fabrics and accessories.  He believes in enduring style, creating spaces that are highly personal and highlighted by a modern twist and a traditional touch. Through his design approach and attention to detail, Benjamin is known for comfortable, timeless, luxurious spaces that are reflective of his clients’ tastes, interests, and lifestyle.

A graduate of the University of Kentucky, Benjamin’s background in Fine Arts helped to evolve his signature interiors and honed his personal style. He launched Benjamin Deaton Interiors in 2015. The firm focuses on residential interiors with projects throughout Kentucky, Louisiana and beyond. In 2020, he launched, Benjamin Deaton Home, a curated retail store on Lexington’s fashionable Romany Road. 

Claire Nash, Junior Design Associate

Claire received her BA in Interior Design from the University of Kentucky. She was honored with UK’s 2018 School of Interiors Book Award in Spatial Rendering Production.

Claire grew up in Lexington with an inherent sense of the spaces around her. She has honed her passion for interiors into a skill set that caters to creating comfortable, functional and beautifully curated spaces. Claire is actively pursuing her qualification with ASID and is studying for her NCIDQ certification. She lives in Lexington with her husband Nick and French Bulldog Geno.
